Busy busy busy!!!

Hello people of Blogginghamshire!!  I hope you have all had a spectactular week, whatever you were doing!!

Now, let's talk about me....I've been touched with the joyousness of hayfever this week, so the specs have been worn this week...

Now, you can't really tell from this picture, taken by a shaky handed friend (probably still drunk!) but these glasses are beautiful, they're purple perspex cats eye style with diamante across the top and I LOVE THEM!! I bought them from Opera Opera in Covent Garden some years ago, my prescription has changed somewhat over the years, so I got those lovely people at Specsavers to change the lenses - little tip for you there, if you love your glasses but your prescription has changed, don't buy new ones, just get new lenses!! I would love to wear these specs more often, but sometimes it's just not practical for me to wear them every day, so I have to stick to my pesky contact lenses!

So, enough of my woes, apart from the dreaded Hayfever I've had a pretty good week, I've helped a couple of adorable clients update their wardrobes and have created a magical outfit for another to wear for a wedding next month - will it be cold, warm, windy, sunny, raining , snowing????? Who know's, but whatever it is, my client will be dressed accordingly with pieces to add and remove from the outfit - yey!!!

Right, onto this weeks example outfit for all you beauties out there - the old faithful Little Black Dress. Every girl should have one as it's the best friend we all need when we just can't think of what to wear. Mine, as you will see, is a tight wiggle dress with sailor style detail on the sweetheart neckline, it comes just past my knee and the bodice is boned so holds all my wobbly bits in!! If you've been on my website (http://www.lucille-von-frock.co.uk/) you'll probably guess that it's my favourite dress, as that's the one I'm wearing on my profile shot - it's just so easy to wear, I've worn it again and again...

As you'll see, I've also teamed it with my old faithful Carvela platform heels with tassel detail on the back, not only do I love these shoes for aesthetic purposes, but they are just sooooo comfortable, I can literally walk miles in them! Finding a shoe like that doesn't happen very often, I just wish I'd bought a few more pairs!

So, I've got the hot dress and the killer heels, now onto the jewellery....I decided to go with pearls for this outfit to play against the cream/beige piping on the dress. Although I say pearls, they're not just you're bog standard twinset type, it's a beautiful choker from Vivienne Westwood (http://www.viviennewestwood.co.uk/) with diamante lovebirds in a cage with an arrow going through it, I think it's stunning and always get lots of compliments on it. I opted for a drop pearl earring to add to the vintage look, I can't remember where these were from but I seem to remember they only cost me a couple of pounds...

So, that's this weeks outfit for you, I hope you like it! Apologies for the awful layout on the floor again, I'm hoping to have delivery of a tailor's dummy this week to showcase the clothes better for next weeks blog!!

Also, I will be attending the Voix De Ville: Cabaret and Burlesque night at Proud Cabaret (http://www.proudcabaret.com/) on Friday evening so I will make sure to take photo's of the night's chosen outfit!!

Once again my lovelies, have a wonderful week and don't forget to get in touch if you want a touch of Lucille Von Frock glamour in your life!!

Kiss kiss!

Introducing...Lucille Von Frock!!!

Well, I've only gone and done it - I've started a blog!! Much to my fear & tredpidation, it's not as hard as I imagined! Although, I can guarantee, the first few month's will be VERY basic I can assure you,  but my lovelies, I will do my best to beautify it along the way...

So, what do I want to share with you...? Firstly, I LOVE LOVE LOVE all things fashion, whether it's trousers, skirts, blouses, jumpers, dresses, headwear or jewellery - I LOVE IT!

Now, you may be aware that my personal preference is to nod towards the 40's and 50's...headscarf? Yes please! Red lipstick? Yes please! Old school glamour? Yes please! So whether it's the retro vibe you need in your life or up to the date fashion, I'm the gal pal for you and will endeavour to bring you a taste of what's floating my boat in the upcoming months...

Now, onto business...I've taken the liberty of taking a few photo's of my current favourite outfits - a daytime and an evening one...

The first is a newly bought....erm, I would call it a jumpsuit, but that sounds a bit casual, so I'll call it a glamoursuit! I bought it from French Connection a few weeks ago in the sale - BARGAIN ALERT!! It was originally £175 but was reduced to £35 (I swear I heard angels singing when I bought this!), the bottom half is wide leg palazzo style pants and the top is a backless halter neck - scrumptious! As you will see from the photo, it's black and is made of a lovely silky fabric. Teamed with my beautiful red flower heels and a dinky cute red clutch this look screams sophistication with a sprinkling of masculinity from the 20's & 30's...

This outfit I intend to wear the next time I attend the Wam Bam Club (http://www.wambamclub.com/) to see the lovely Lady Alex and DJ Earl of Ealing. This is somewhere myself and Mr Von Frock like to frequent quite often to enjoy the delights of various burlesque performers & cabaret acts - I can highly recommend it! Beforehand though, I have to master the art of marcel waves...that should be fun!

Now, on with proceedings....the second outfit I have chosen to share is a daytime outfit, not necessarily for popping to Tesco's,  maybe for an afternoon tea somewhere in glorious London town? Obviously, at this time of year, warmth is high on the list of priorities, that's why I have opted for a fine knit polo neck jumper, however I must point out, for all of those amply chested ladies out there, the polo neck jumper is something you must avoid at all costs, no matter how chic the whole ensemble may be, polo neck's are the enemy!!  Anyway, onto the rest of the outfit, on the bottom it would be a full flared heavy skirt in black and taupe with a wide elasticated waist cinching belt to create the perfect silhouette. Underneath the skirt I like to wear a black petticoat to give it that extra oomph, but obviously that is personal choice. In the shoe department I have opted for a plain platform court shoe, with the fussy pattern on the skirt a plain shoe is a must, also a pair of seamed stockings for more warmth, and lastly a nice fair size clutch to fit everything in...

So, I hope you enjoy my first 2 chosen outfits to show you, all the items I've shown are all high street purchases, easily affordable and accessible. If you're concerned that I only wear black, please don't be - I love colour, it just so happens that my favourite outfits this week are black, there will be plenty of colour coming up...!
