Anyone for CandyFloss?

Hello dolls! I hope this week's blog update finds you in fine fettle! Firstly, I must apologise for my lateness, the weekend sunshine made me giddy with excitement for summer so I'm afraid I neglected my BlogMistress duties - can you forgive me?!?!?

So, another weekend passed, another night at Proud Cabaret, another outfit worn...and on this occasion it was the purple Betsey Johnson dress with the grey ostrich feather bolero....here is a photo of the handsome Mr Von Frock and I enjoying a marvellous cocktail...

So, what does Mrs Von Frock have in store for us this week I hear you cry....well, it is rather special even if I do say so myself...

As you'll see, it's a gorgeous, completely over the top white satin dress with candyfloss pink huge bow on the shoulder with giant pink buttons down the side, this dress is from Betsey Johnson, and I think it's a real showstopper. The amount of people who have complimented me while wearing this dress is unbelievable, I think it's because it's just so cute and frou frou, it just makes people smile. Now obviously, this is not the dress for shrinking violets, however, if you're like me and don't care - then giant bows, ribbons, flowers etc are always fun to wear!

The colours are also on trend for this season, pastel's will be VERY big this summer, I'm seeing them in magazine's all over the place - give them a go!

I've opted for silver shoes from Office & bag which I don't know the origins of for this outfit, trying to match with either white or pink is a definite NO NO - with both only offering to look tacky and cheap.

On the other hand, taking the pastel look even further, I would be tempted to perhaps opt for pastel coloured shoes and clutch in differing colours. I've seen these shoes below at ASOSwhich I think would look great and would try and find a suede clutch in pale green or orange to complete the look...
Now, last but not least - jewellery. I think it's fair to say that the dress does all the talking for this outfit, so jewellery should be simple; non-dangly earrings and a bracelet is all that's needed. A necklace of sorts should definitely NOT be worn with this dress, it's just too fussy and close to the bow. Oh yes, and hair should be up to show off the fabulous... of course you guessed it, THE BOW!!

So, another week, another look which I hope you love. Please let me know what you think, I'd love to read your comments below.

So, there we go, another outfit for you beautiful dolls to try out, have fun, enjoy it and I'll see you next week!! But don't forget, you can follow me on Twitter & Facebook. Bring on the feathers!

Well my lovelies, another week has passed and Spring has finally sprung! Did you hear it?!?! The sight of daffodils and sunshine is enough to warm the coldest heart and has given me inspiration for something a bit WILD this week, and with the promise of balmy evenings enjoying Pimms I've gone for an outfit that doesn't give the option of wearing a coat! I hope you like it!

"Wild? Hardly Miss Von Frock" I hear you cry. Now, while you have to agree, the Betsey Johnson dress  is VERY cute and would be delightful on it's own, or especially worn in the day with ballet shoes, but as it is, it hardly screams VA VA VOOM, so here's another picture with a little something extra...

KAPOW!!! Did that do the job??? Now, while I may have used the word 'wild' you didn't really expect me to be using it in the context of 'leather chaps and a crop top did you'? Of course not, this is the blog of Lucille Von Frock you are reading, obviously by 'wild' I mean 'glamorous' but also playing on the fact that basically the bolero has come from an animal. Anyway, do you now see how something so pretty can be given a completely different look with GREAT ACCESSORIES?!?!?!  You have to admit that putting the ostrich feather bolero on top of the dress does dress it up a hell of a lot and takes the outfit from daytime to evening...

So, as always, we have the dress, but now we have to complete the outfit with shoes, handbag and jewellery...

You will remember all of these items I have added to this outfit from previous outfits shown on here, the grey suede heels from Next, the grey clutch bag, the Vivienne Westwood pearl necklace and the random earrings I bought from heaven knows where...don't be afraid to mix and match designer with cheaper brands - it's about the whole look, if the key items look expensive; the whole look will!!!

Blast of Colour!!

Hello my darlings!! How has your week been? Thoroughly excellent I hope! So, another week has passed, more clothes have been seen, lusted after, bought, worn and loved in the world of Lucille Von Frock, with evening's out, clients to be seen and pancakes to be eaten, it's been a thoroughly busy one for me!

Now, back to the pancakes, unfortunately, I didn't get to eat them on actual pancake day as that evening I was enjoying the splendour that is the Crazy Bear private members club (http://www.crazybeargroup.co.uk/), and what a memorable evening that was... I think....All I know is that when I entered, I looked pretty damn elegant in my black pencil skirt, black polo neck, black tassled heels and cats eye glasses with hair back in a neat ponytail.....not entirely sure I was keeping up the elegance after a few glasses of fizz though...but it had been a hard day so I deserved it!

So the rest of the week whizzed by and before I knew it, it was Saturday evening - time for some Burlesque!!!  This particular weekend I was going for something a bit different - The Hurly Burly Show with Miss Polly Rae at the Garrick Theatre (http://www.hurlyburlyuk.com/) which was brilliant; funny, saucy, mesmerising & sexy - what more could you want?!?!??! Anyway, while I obviously looked gorgeous I'm going to keep the outfit under wraps for now as I'm intending to showcase it on here in a few weeks....so to keep you entertained for now, I now give to you, my loyal subjects the latest outfit from Lucille Von Frock, it's a corker!!!

Ta daaaa!!! What do you think? Enough colour for you? Anyway, let me talk you through it my lovelies...As you'll see it's a 1950's style halter neck dress with a full skirt in a gorgeous emerald green satin, coupled with a red petticoat and accessories. The obvious choice for petticoat and accessories for this outfit would be black, which I have gone with a few times, but for something with a bit more pizazz I've gone for a red accent.

The dress is from Vivien Of Holloway (http://www.vivienofholloway.com/) who is the 'go to' for vintage style reproduction dresses, the petticoat is from Ebay and cost around £20, although the picture doesn't actually do it justice, once it's on an actual human being with legs it fills out more....the shoes I've mentioned on here previously; River Island and I've no idea where the bag is from or the elasticated belt, I've had them for years....The red shade of the bag and shoes don't match perfectly because of the different textures of fabric used, but I have so many red evening bags I just chose one so you could get the idea of what the whole outfit looks like together....

Now, onto jewellery. Because the dress is so full on jewellery needs to be low key, so earrings wise I'd go for a simple hoop, I haven't bothered taking a photo of hoop earrings because everyone knows what they look like right? As for around the neck I've opted for a necklace with attitude to take the edge off the 'prom queen' look, it's from Vivienne Westwood and is a simple thin chain with a small 'knuckle duster' on it - simple yet effective...

So, there we go, another outfit for you kittie kats to try out, have fun, enjoy it and I'll see you next week!! But don't forget, you can follow me on Twitter & Facebook. CRY NO MORE - I'M BACK!!!

Helly my lovelies, have you missed me?!?!?  Now, I can imagine you have been waiting with baited breath for the next installment of my wonderful blog and was left with despair and confusion when 2 weeks ago nothing appeared, then the same again last week - I'm truly sorry, first there was an unexpected visit back home then a pesky virus took residence in my laptop - however, I'm now back with gusto, brace yourselves girls!!

So, what has been happening in the exciting world of Lucille Von Frock I hear you say, well lots....Firstly, I had the opportunity to attend the Next Models/Sony Music London Fashion Week Party (http://www.nextmodels.com/) and had a thoroughly splendid evening (what's not to love when the champagne is flowing?), for this momentous occasion I wore my famous 'glamoursuit' from my previous blog, and although I was surrounded by Glamazons I still felt a million dollars, nothing can keep the confidence of this 5' 3" firecracker down!!

Next was the press night for the Wizard Of Oz at the London Palladium (http://www.wizardofozthemusical.com/) and when I say it was PHENOMENAL I truly mean it, and if anyone tells you they saw me shed a tear when Dorothy sang 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' they're fibbing, totally fibbing, LVF does not cry, I had something in my eye....stop asking me about it OK!!!! Anyway, whilst enjoying the Wizard of Oz and NOT crying I was wearing the lovely black & taupe full skirt also previously mentioned on here a few weeks back, however, as it was a bit warm to wear the jumper, I opted for a 3/4 sleeve, scoop necked fitted 't-shirt' - it's actually 'shapewear' and is meant to be worn under clothes, but it looks too good not to be shown off!

Now, onto this weeks golden nugget...as mentioned previously, I've shown quite a few black outfits, and also as mentioned I HARDLY EVER WEAR BLACK! Which I understand must be hard to believe! So this week I'm going for a lovely turquoise pastel and cream/grey  prom dress from Betsey Johnson (http://www.betseyjohnson.com/). Now I'd first like to declare something, I'm a sucker for a Betsey Johnson dress, I just totally love her designs, there is always something a little frivolous about them, completely ME!

I've worn this dress on quite a few occasions and always feel like a princess when I wear it, as you'll see it's strapless with a sweetheart neckline, the bottom half being ra-ra style with layers of turqoise satin and cream lace.

Now although I like to have my shoes and handbag being the same colour as something on the outfit on this occasion it was a bit of a no no, turquoise shoes anyone? No thanks! So I opted for a a pale grey suede peep to show with cute bow and pale grey clutch bag. With the pale grey being such a soft colour, I think creates the perfect down the middle balance between the turquoise and the cream, what do you think...?

As you'll see, the shoes are from Next (very reasonable, £35!) and are SO comfortable, I can literally walk miles in these shoes! The clutch was from TK Maxx about 6 years ago, I think it cost me about £3!

Once again, I've added the Vivienne Westwood pearl necklace and the pearl drop earrings which I've mentioned previously...

So, outfit complete and this is what I wore on Friday night at Proud Carbaret to celebrate my birthday! As you'll see make-up wise, as much as it pains me to go sans red lippy you'd have to be an imbecile to wear red with this outfit, so whilst the rest of the makeup was the same (pale skin, black cat eye liner, rosy cheeks) I opted for a pretty pastel pink lipstick to finish off the demure princess look!! Here is a picture of said lipstick enjoying getting up close and personal with some of that French fizzy pop....

So au revoir for now mon amis and see you next week!! But don't forget, you can follow on Twitter & Facebook. If you need to get in touch email on helen@lucille-von-frock.co.uk and call me on 07547 635870 - don't be a stranger, get in touch! xx
